Thompsons Natural Liquid Calcium
Current research indicates that, from dietary sources alone, more than half of all adult women and from 24% to 50% of adult men in Australasia get less Calcium than their bodies need. Over 20% of females between 19 and 34 get less than half the recommended daily intake (RDI).
Because of the widespread occurrence of osteoporosis in elderly women, young women would benefit greatly from supplementation with Calcium from an early age, to build strong Calcium reserves within bones. Combined with adequate exercise and dietary habits, these measures may guard against osteoporosis in later life.
In addition to its major function of building and maintaining healthy bones and teeth, Calcium is vital to regulating heart beat, ensuring normal blood coagulation, activating enzyme reactions, stimulating hormone secretions, aiding in the transmission of nerve impulses and relieving muscle cramps.
Liquid Calcium, in soft, easily swallowed capsules, is the ideal Calcium supplement for young adults. The completely natural form of Calcium present, Calcium Carbonate, yields very high levels of Calcium, and at the recommended daily dose of Liquid Calcium, the RDI for Calcium can be easily achieved.
Every capsule provides a high potency Calcium Carbonate plus Vitamin D for enhanced absorption. There are no added preservatives, flavourings or sugars in this hypoallergenic formulation which is ideally suited to those who may be allergic to dairy products.

Indications for Use
All women with a family history of osteoporosis can benefit from taking Thompsonﾒs Liquid Calcium. Demand for Calcium is higher at specific times, such as during pregnancy or breast-feeding. The bodyﾒs Calcium requirement can also increase, however, due to excretion of Calcium caused from excess protein, coffee or sodas in the diet. Menopause also brings about Calcium losses, as a result of lowered levels of oestrogen. In post- menopausal women Calcifort or Menopause for Women is more suitable.
By taking Liquid Calcium, in combination with adequate exercise and a healthy diet, many of the problems associated with Calcium deficiency can be prevented.
For non milk-drinkers and those on very low-calorie diets Liquid Calcium is recommended. If symptoms such as nervousness, muscle cramps or insomnia are present a Calcium deficiency may need to be immediately corrected.
